Tony Ulwick's great insight that led to the Jobs to be Done Theory makes all the sense in the world here. The job of CRM is to understand customers - we have been trying to do throughout the ages from the earliest days of trade. The tools change, but the job is basically the same. Figure out what the customers want and try to provide it. The people and organizations that understand customers the best use context and judgement to make better decisions. Right to market beats speed to market, almost always.
