Never written here before. Great piece specially the PLG + Product offer Divisibility as a Strategy, it made some thoughts come into place . Thanks Leah
Felt compelled to come here and write a comment, because this is one of the best pieces I've read on PLG.
A question came to mind when reading the transition strategy part - when trying to bridge the gap and move down the graph, is it inevitable to have a short term cost increase when we invest in making the product more self-serve while keeping up the sales model?
If yes, I wonder how the conversations went at companies like HubSpot that successfully pivoted, and whether they tried to calculate an ROI. Based on your article, I assume the best way to push for moving to self serve and PLG is - "we will be disrupted if we don't try this, so it's less about ROI and more about survival".
One of the best PLG takes I have read in a while. PLG is not a silver bullet, and you don't snap a finger and say let there be PLG. Thanks for a good read this morning (my time at least)
