The personal growth/content loop of Leah
Frankenstein version
A couple of years ago I went systematically after my personal growth. I didn't accept any more waiting from me or my surroundings. What I couldn't get in the day job I looked for in the market -> to make me better in my day job.
One strategy for that was to coach others and ultimately companies.
In the picture, you see a Frankenstein visualization of what then happened while integrating this into my other work life
I started to appear on podcasts to also help the company attract new talent
That led to offering free coaching
I had to reject requests for coaching and selected a few for paid coaching
That led to companies asking for more structured coaching
That practical experience allowed me to challenge my existing knowledge
Things that worked I formalize with confidence into content on LinkedIn, My substack, and the podcast. *Daily*
Ultimately, this entire journey helped me tremendously to get better at my craft, and more importantly, it helped me identify where I have massive skill gaps. I noticed relatively quickly that I need to get a better understanding of marketing and sales or I won't have the credibility to advise companies that have existing departments.
And as a product/growth leader, it becomes a table stake to understand how to integrate these departments in org scaling. Insights I lacked years ago completely.
This learning loop has been the most fun I've had since... ever in my career? I hope it never stops.

I love this. Taking a strategic approach to developing your career instead of just floating along. Acknowledging that you have skill gaps and proactively working on them instead of deflecting and hunkering down on what you're already good that. And then posting about it openly - kudos.
I wonder - what approach do you use to develop personal growth outside of your profession?
